Most of Trystan's experience has been working with children, adolescents and young adults. Trystan also has experience running bereavement groups and has a certification in Grief Counseling.
For Trystan, a strengths-based approach is often used with her clients and she believes in the importance of empowering them to meet their own goals.
Trystan has experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, ASD and eating-disorders. Some of her treatment modalities include: CBT, DBT, play-therapy, psycho-education, solution-focused therapy and ACT.
Trystan has worked in various settings including: non-profits, schools, outpatient centers, hospitals and community agencies. Trystan has experience working with individuals, parents, families and groups from diverse backgrounds.
For Trystan, one of the most important factors in seeking mental health treatment is finding the provider that is right for YOU. Please don't let that discourage you! Sometimes it takes a few tries until you find a therapist who you 'click' with, someone who 'gets you' and can help you help yourself. It is so important to her to have honesty, an open-mind and healthy communication in the therapeutic relationship.
She strives to make her clients feel comfortable and safe while in therapy and will support you at each step of your healing journey. She strongly believe in meeting clients where they are at and assisting with finding the right tools to improve your well-being.
Outside of work, she enjoys taking aerial fitness classes, reading, spending time with family/friends, doing arts & crafts and shopping! She has a pet cat and a bunch of plants that she tries to take care of. This year, she is planning a trip to Italy where she will be taking a course in Authenticity Therapy and gets to spend a week with other therapists! (Italian food is her favorite).
