Layla is a thoughtful and deeply attuned Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about supporting clients as they reconnect with themselves and navigate life’s challenges with compassion and clarity. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Creative Writing, where she first discovered the healing power of storytelling and human connection.
With a warm and grounding presence, Layla creates a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered. Her work is rooted in the belief that every person has a story worth telling and that healing often begins when individuals feel safe enough to explore their own narrative. Layla uses a collaborative and trauma-informed approach that encourages clients to listen to their inner voice, trust their intuition, and rediscover their sense of self.
Layla specializes in working with young adults and adults who have experienced trauma or are currently moving through challenging emotional landscapes. Her clinical experience includes supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, eating disorders, and substance use concerns. She blends somatic techniques, mindfulness, narrative approaches, DBT, IFS, ACT, MI, and CBT to help clients cultivate emotional resilience, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful change in their daily lives.
Inspired by creativity and curiosity, Layla invites her clients to explore who they are and who they are becoming. She believes that every person has the capacity to grow and that therapy can be a restorative space where hearts can rest, stories can unfold, and new chapters can begin.
Outside the therapy room, Layla can often be found writing whimsical or dramatic poetry, depending on the mood of the day. She enjoys biking and rollerblading until the very last moment before winter arrives and is known for humming self-made tunes that rarely make it to paper but always spark joy. She dreams of turning those melodies into a musical someday. If you see her at karaoke passionately singing late 90s or early 2000s rock or Broadway hits, you may want to head in the other direction.
