Krystal Nazario, LMSW
Krystal is a dedicated and compassionate social worker who is deeply committed to supporting individuals and families as they navigate life’s challenges while strengthening their connection to themselves and others. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Fairfield University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University. Her passion for understanding people’s experiences and helping others find their path toward greater well-being has shaped both her clinical work and her approach to healing.
Krystal believes that healing begins with a connection between the mind, body, and soul. She creates a safe, validating, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel understood, heard, and supported. Her approach is collaborative and strengths-based, encouraging clients to recognize their resilience, explore their experiences, and take an active role in their own growth. She believes that the therapeutic space provides an opportunity for individuals to connect with their most authentic selves.
Krystal works with individuals and families who may be navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, life transitions, and other emotional challenges. She has a particular interest in supporting first-generation individuals and families as they explore cultural identity, values, expectations, and the ways these experiences can shape their relationships and sense of self. Krystal works collaboratively with clients to develop greater self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and identify meaningful ways to support their overall well-being.
In her clinical work, Krystal takes a spiritually holistic approach and pulls from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed approaches, while incorporating mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and other wellness practices when appropriate. Her background as a crystal healer and former chef also informs her appreciation for the ways different aspects of daily life can contribute to emotional and physical well-being. Krystal believes that each person’s path is unique and strives to meet clients where they are while supporting them in creating meaningful change.
As a Certified Crystal Healer through Evolve Healing Institute, Krystal also brings her knowledge of holistic wellness into her work. She values creating space for clients to explore the mind-body connection and identify practices that help them feel more grounded, connected, and present.
As MJA Behavioral Health & Wellness’s Marketing Director and Community Events Coordinator, Krystal also plays an important role in supporting the organization’s internal operations and external presence. She manages systems that promote efficiency, coordinates community events, and oversees social media to maintain a consistent and welcoming brand voice. She collaborates across departments to support communication, organization, and meaningful community engagement.
Krystal believes that we are all travelers on our own unique journeys and that growth can come from learning to take ownership of the path ahead. Her goal is to help clients feel empowered, grounded, and connected as they navigate life’s challenges and discover new opportunities for growth.
Outside of the therapy room, Krystal enjoys spending time with her three daughters, who have played an important role in shaping her own journey and passion for helping others. She also enjoys exploring holistic wellness practices and drawing from her background as a former chef to find joy and connection through food and family.
