Marissa is a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges while building on their natural strengths. She earned her Master of Social Work from Fordham University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Quinnipiac University. Marissa has been licensed in the field since 2014 and is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Social Work at Simmons University. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including in-home services, inpatient care, outpatient therapy, and private practice, and has also served in supervisory roles supporting other clinicians.

Marissa is a highly relational therapist who believes that meaningful therapy begins with a strong connection between client and therapist. She prioritizes creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences and working toward personal growth. Marissa believes that each client is the expert on their own lived experience and views therapy as a collaborative process that empowers individuals to reach their goals while honoring their dignity and strengths.

Marissa works with adults ages 18 and older who may be navigating life transitions, women’s issues, grief and loss, anxiety, burnout, self-esteem concerns, or peer relationship challenges. She supports clients in exploring patterns, processing difficult emotions, and building tools to foster resilience and well-being.

In her clinical work, Marissa takes an integrative and individualized approach. She often incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based perspectives, relational-cultural therapy, empowerment frameworks, supportive counseling, and solution-focused strategies. Her work focuses on helping clients shift unhelpful thinking patterns, develop behaviors that support growth, and strengthen meaningful connections while building on the strengths and coping strategies they already possess.

Outside of the therapy room, Marissa enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, and meeting friends for coffee. She especially loves the fall season and is a big fan of all things autumn and Halloween.
