Laura is a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who is committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with confidence and clarity. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from Pace University and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University. Laura brings both clinical expertise and a heartfelt passion for empowering clients to overcome obstacles and create meaningful change in their lives.
Laura creates a safe, nurturing, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and valued. Her approach is holistic and collaborative, focusing on building self-awareness, resilience, and long-term growth. She understands that each individual’s journey is unique and works closely with clients to help them reconnect with their strengths and develop a deeper understanding of themselves.
Laura began her career in career counseling, where she helped individuals identify their strengths, challenge limiting beliefs, and rebuild confidence. This foundation continues to shape her work today, particularly in supporting clients through anxiety, self-doubt, and major life transitions.
Laura specializes in working with adults and young adults, with a particular focus on increasing self-esteem, improving body image, and developing a healthier relationship with food. As an eating disorder-informed clinician, she is passionate about helping clients reduce negative thought patterns, build confidence, and foster a more balanced and compassionate relationship with themselves.
In her clinical work, Laura integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, and solution-focused techniques. She helps clients identify emotional triggers and unhelpful thought patterns while developing practical coping strategies and stress management tools. Laura believes that true transformation extends beyond symptom relief and aims to support clients in building fulfilling, empowered lives.
Laura is deeply committed to helping individuals regain a sense of control and purpose. She works collaboratively with clients to set meaningful goals and take actionable steps toward lasting change, always emphasizing that growth and healing are possible for everyone.
Outside of the therapy room, Laura cherishes her role as an aunt and godmother and values her close relationships with family and friends. She enjoys working out, running, practicing yoga, and spending time outdoors. A fan of 80s and 90s music, Laura loves to laugh, cook, and unwind at the beach with a good book.
