Jennifer DiSilvio, LMSW

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through the process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.”- Brene Brown.

Jennifer is a compassionate and experienced Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Reiki Master who is deeply committed to supporting adults and couples through life’s complex and challenging transitions. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University and brings more than 15 years of experience working in hospice settings and as part of the integrative medicine team at Smilow Cancer Hospital. Her extensive experience across mental health, hospice, oncology, and integrative medicine has shaped her holistic and compassionate approach to supporting clients.

Jennifer creates a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Her style is collaborative and empathetic, with a strong emphasis on active listening and building a trusting therapeutic relationship. She believes that individuals are far more than their diagnoses and strives to see and support the whole person. For Jennifer, healing can begin through connection, self-awareness, and compassion.

Jennifer works with adults and couples who may be navigating trauma, anxiety, grief and bereavement, substance use and sobriety, caregiver stress, serious medical conditions, and significant life transitions. She also has experience supporting caregivers who are caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and life-threatening illnesses. Jennifer works collaboratively with clients to process difficult experiences, strengthen relationships, establish healthy boundaries, and develop tools for navigating challenging seasons of life.

In her clinical work, Jennifer takes an eclectic and individualized approach, pulling from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Polyvagal-informed interventions, mindfulness practices, and self-care strategies. She works with clients to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen self-esteem, improve communication, and develop practical coping strategies that support greater confidence and resilience.

In addition to her psychotherapy work, Jennifer is a nationally certified massage and Reiki educator. She teaches trauma-informed massage and Reiki, hospice massage, and oncology massage to students across the country. Through this work, she shares her knowledge and experience in providing safe, compassionate, and integrative support for individuals experiencing physical and emotional challenges.

Jennifer believes that owning our experiences and learning to approach ourselves with compassion can be an important part of healing and growth. Her goal is to help clients feel more grounded, connected, and empowered while navigating difficult seasons of life. She strives to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported as they develop greater self-awareness and build meaningful, sustainable change.

Outside of the therapy room, Jennifer enjoys attending live music events, writing, and traveling. She loves spending time with her husband, two adult children and their significant others, as well as her cats, friends, and family.
