Jennifer DiSilvio is a compassionate and experienced Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Reiki Master who is deeply committed to supporting adults and couples through life’s most complex and challenging transitions. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University and brings over 15 years of experience working across hospice settings and as part of the integrative medicine team at Smilow Cancer Hospital.
Jennifer specializes in working with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, grief and bereavement, substance use and sobriety, caregiver stress, and serious medical conditions. She has extensive experience supporting caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and life-threatening illnesses, and she strongly believes that people are far more than their diagnoses.
Jennifer creates a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Her style is collaborative, empathetic, and grounded in active listening, with a strong emphasis on building a trusting therapeutic relationship. She believes healing happens through connection, self-awareness, and compassion.
In her clinical work, Jennifer utilizes an eclectic and individualized approach, integrating CBT, DBT, and Polyvagal Therapy with mindfulness practices and self-care strategies. She supports clients in reducing negative thought patterns, improving self-esteem, establishing healthy boundaries, strengthening communication skills, and developing effective coping tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
In addition to her psychotherapy work, Jennifer is a nationally certified massage and Reiki educator. She teaches trauma-informed massage and Reiki, hospice massage, and oncology massage to students nationwide, sharing her expertise in working safely and compassionately with individuals facing both physical and mental health challenges.
Outside of the therapy room, Jennifer enjoys attending live music events, writing, traveling, and spending time with her cats, friends, husband, and two adult children and their significant others.
