Elizabeth (Liz) is a dedicated Pre-Licensed Addiction and Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about supporting individuals in building healthier, more balanced lives. She earned her Master’s degree in Addiction Studies and Mental Health Counseling from Western Connecticut State University in 2024. Her interest in mental health began early, influenced by her mother’s work in child psychology and a deep appreciation for meaningful human connection. This foundation continues to shape her thoughtful, empathetic approach to care.

Liz creates a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences and gaining insight into patterns that may be impacting their well-being. Her style is client-centered and collaborative, emphasizing the importance of meeting clients where they are while helping them build practical tools for growth and change.

Liz works with teens and adults navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and mood-related challenges. She also supports individuals experiencing life transitions, interpersonal difficulties, and stress. She has a particular interest in working with clients facing dual diagnosis, helping them better understand the connection between substance use and underlying emotional factors.

In her clinical work, Liz integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and DBT-informed strategies to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop effective coping skills. She takes a strengths-based approach, empowering clients to build on their existing abilities while fostering meaningful and sustainable change.

Liz believes that growth begins with understanding, and her goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. She works collaboratively with clients to help them make intentional choices, navigate challenges with greater confidence, and develop a stronger sense of agency in their lives.

Outside of the therapy room, Liz enjoys spending time with family and friends, practicing yoga and meditation, and reading, cooking, and traveling. She is also a dedicated animal lover and a dual U.S./Swiss citizen.
