Brenda Coyne, Pre-Licensed Clinician

Brenda is a compassionate and thoughtful Pre-Licensed Clinician who is passionate about understanding people’s stories and supporting them through life’s challenges. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Social Work at Fairfield University. Brenda has always been curious about the ways people’s experiences, relationships, and environments shape who they are, and she values the opportunity to connect with clients on a genuine human level while supporting meaningful change.

Brenda creates a warm, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel seen, heard, and appreciated. Her approach is strengths-based and grounded in the belief that people have inherent strengths and the capacity for growth. She believes that clients are the experts in their own lives and works alongside them to identify goals, build confidence, and create changes that feel meaningful and authentic.

Brenda works with adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults who may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, stress, self-esteem concerns, and substance use. She enjoys helping clients better understand their experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, and recognize the strengths they can draw upon as they navigate difficult or changing seasons of life.

In her clinical work, Brenda draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-informed, mindfulness-informed, Motivational Interviewing, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approaches. She tailors her approach to each client’s individual needs, experiences, and goals while creating space for reflection, skill-building, and personal growth.

Brenda believes that meaningful change begins with feeling supported, understood, and valued. Her goal is to help clients recognize their strengths, develop greater self-awareness, and build the confidence and tools needed to create lives that feel more fulfilling and authentic.

Outside of the therapy room, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family, taking long walks with her Golden Retriever, traveling, reading novels, and binge-watching Netflix shows.
