Alex is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges while strengthening their relationships and sense of self. She earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University. Alex has always been deeply interested in relational dynamics and the ways relationships and external systems shape emotional and behavioral experiences.
Alex creates a supportive, realistic, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel validated while also challenged to grow. She believes it is essential for individuals to both acknowledge and take ownership of their emotional and behavioral responses in ways that support healthy daily functioning and meaningful relationships. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, authenticity, and flexibility to best meet each client’s unique needs.
Alex works with adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families who are navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. She also specializes in supporting relational and family dynamics, helping clients improve communication, strengthen connections, and create healthier patterns within relationships and family systems.
In her clinical work, Alex integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), mindfulness practices, and solution-focused techniques to help clients build adaptive coping skills and emotional regulation strategies. She also utilizes structural and strategic family therapy approaches to address relational dynamics and support healthier interactions within couples and family systems. Alex believes that clients are the experts on themselves, and she incorporates this philosophy into every aspect of treatment and intervention planning.
Alex believes that genuine investment in oneself can lead to meaningful adaptation, healing, and growth. Her goal is to help clients feel empowered, grounded, and better equipped to navigate the challenges of everyday life and relationships.
Outside of the therapy room, Alex enjoys going for walks with her dog, spending time with family and friends, and being near the water during the warmer months. She is also a self-proclaimed foodie who loves exploring new foods and cuisines.
