The selflessness an animal shows us can brighten our day, heal our spirits, and reaffirm that we are worthy of love.

What is Animal Assisted Therapy?

Animal Assisted Therapy is a therapeutic intervention that uses animals to improve emotional, physical, and mental health of clients who struggle with a variety of behavioral health diagnoses.

We are excited to introduce Lucas. Lucas is the latest addition to our team at M.J.A. Behavioral Health and Wellness and a therapy dog in training. Lucas just turned one and is about to resume his journey to becoming a therapy dog, who will be able to provide animal assisted therapy at our practice.

Lucas is a Cavapoo (part Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle). He is considered hypoallergenic. He loves people, loves to snuggle, really enjoys playing with his toys, and most of all loves being around humans.
